See all the most spectacular views in Banff while learning about the history, geography and ecology of the area with one of our expert local guides. The fat bikes allow us to explore life-changing scenery in snow-packed trails with safety and comfort.

The tour varies slightly from day to day, but generally includes either the Tunnel Mountain Bench Loop or the Bow River Trail, Vermillion Lakes and Sundance Canyon Trail. All these roads and pathways are relatively easy, and have little to no traffic.

This tour is relatively easy and accessible for most types of riders. We take frequent short breaks for photos.

Banff and Bow Valley TOUR FAQ’S

  • What should I bring with me on the tour?

    • We recommend bringing the following:

      • water bottle

      • food (sandwiches, snacks)

      • sunglasses

      • face and ear/neck covering (balaclava, buff)

      • waterproof/windproof jacket or shell, mountain weather can be unpredictable !

      • warm layer(s) and gloves

      • waterproof shoes (hiking boots)

    • If you don’t have one or more of these things, they are all available for purchase at our shop.

  • Can I pick up my fat bike early or keep it after the tour?

    • Yes. The fat bike is reserved for your use for the full day of your tour. You are welcome to pick it up any time and keep it after the tour, as long as the e-bike is returned before we close for the day (6pm).

  • Can my kid(s) / teen(s) come on this tour?

    • Yes! As long as your child is tall enough to ride their own fat bike (minimum height 5'1" / 188 cm) they are welcome to join this tour.

  • Can I book this as a private tour?

  • What happens if the weather is bad on the day of our tour? Can I get a refund?

    • Our tours go ahead rain or shine. As the old adage goes: “there’s no such thing as bad weather, just bad clothing!”

    • If you are concerned, we always offer a full 100% refund on cancellations at least 24 hours in advance, we can also transfer your tour to another day (pending availability).

    • If the weather is terrible on the day of your tour, we provide 100% refund (-3% fee)
