TREK Verve+ 3 LOWSTEP
$99/day
Our most popular bike rental! This turbo-powered e-bike intuitively reacts to the force of your pedaling—so the harder you pedal, the more power it delivers. This Trek e-bike offers the smoothest and most silent ride possible. The low-entry frame makes it easy to get on and off — and is perfect for stopping to take photos of the beautiful mountain views.
The electric assist on these bikes opens up all the terrain around Banff, since you don’t have to worry about the hills. It also means everyone in the group can stay together, and ride for hours without getting fatigued. 5 levels of electric assist mean you can choose how much effort you want to put in or how much support you want.
Typical range 60-90 km (40-60 miles). To get a more accurate estimate use the Trek E-Bike Range Calculator

Road Comfort E-Bike FAQ’s
Can children/teens rent e-bikes?
Yes, as long as they meet the minimum height and age requirements of 4’10” and 12 or over they can rent an e-bike. If your child or teen does not meet the minimums you can consider renting a kids bike or a bike attachment like a tagalong or chariot. The bike attachments can all be attached to this e-bike.
Should I rent the road comfort e-bike or a mountain e-bike?
There are several reasons you may want to rent the road comfort e-bike instead of the mountain e-bike:
Verve+ 3 has greater range because of the smooth road tires instead of grippy mountain bike tires (less friction) (typical range of 60-90 km instead of 35-50 km)
Verve+ 3 has a low-entry frame that makes it easier to get on and off, and a kick-stand for easily propping your bike to take photos
Verve+ 3 has a more upright, comfortable posture for all-day riding and enjoying the scenery
Bottom line: If you plan to stick to the paved roadways and pathways this is the e-bike for you!
I want a workout but my partner or the rest of my party is renting e-bike(s), what should I do?
In our experience, if you are a strong and regular cyclist that typically averages at least 20-25 km/hr (12-15 mph) on your rides and feels comfortable riding for at least 2-4 hours, it can work well for you to rent a performance road bike or road comfort bike while the other group members rent e-bikes.
However, for most groups it typically works better for everyone to be on e-bikes. For those who want more of a workout, you can turn the electric-assist down or even off to make the riding more difficult, then turn the assist up if/when you want to make it easier or keep up with the group. This is especially true for longer rides like the ride to Johnston Canyon along the Bow Valley Parkway, which has a couple significant climbs that e-bikes make much easier!
How far can this e-bike make it along the Bow Valley Parkway from Banff?
Our customers have had no problems making it to Johnston Canyon and back (50km round trip). They also typically have no problem making it a bit further to Castle Junction as long as they are not on max-assist (turbo) the whole time (70km round trip). The battery monitor on the bike makes it easy to tell how much battery life you have left (turn back at halfway!).
We do not recommend taking this e-bike all the way to Lake Louise and back (110 km round trip). We have had customers accomplish this by using the assist on the lowest level or keeping it off a significant portion of the ride, however this is at your own risk— you could run out of batteries on the ride home. Charging the bike in Lake Louise is not a viable option. A better option is to rent a performance road bike or road comfort bike to accomplish this bike ride.
Can I rent an e-bike for multiple days? How does the charging work?
Yes, you can rent your e-bike for multiple days. One option is to return the bike to our shop each day after riding for us to store and charge overnight. The other option is to store and charge the bike at your hotel or accommodation. If you’re doing the latter, it is important you have a location inside to safely store the bike overnight and where you have access to an outlet for charging the bike. The charging cord is about 8 feet long and plugs directly into the bike from the wall. We will show you how to use the charger when you pick up the bike. For safety/theft reasons, we don’t recommend storing e-bikes outside overnight, even with a bike lock. If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to contact us.
Can I ride one-way to Canmore/ Johnston Canyon / Lake Louise and take the Roam bus back to Banff with the e-bike?
The Verve+ 3 e-bikes weigh ~25kg / 55 lbs and are too heavy to safely use on the Roam transit bus bike racks according to their bike policy. A limited number of Roam buses have interior bike racks that can accommodate e-bikes, however you cannot count on those being available. If there is no interior bike rack they will not let you board with your e-bike.
Therefore, we recommend renting a road comfort bike if you want to only ride one direction and take the Roam bus so you can use the exterior bike racks.
