CAR-FREE CYCLING ALL SUMMER LONG
Parks Canada has announced that the 17km section of the Bow Valley Parkway from Banff to Johnston Canyon will be a bike-only experience with no vehicle traffic in May, June and September. Combined with the scenic 8 km of Vermillion Lakes Road, this 50km (32 mi) round-trip ride puts Banff on the map as arguably one of the best biking destinations in the world.

I can't even imagine how I'll be able to adequately express what a wonderful experience we had. It's very early in the season, so early that we had to make special arrangements. Tom brought the bikes to us at the hotel and from there led us on an amazing tour of Banff.

The road bikes were well maintained and we appreciated the route recommendations we received from the team.
Tom led our tour and he was brilliant - it was only my husband and I on the tour, so he customized the route to our abilities. We also had a fantastic lunch, and saw a family of elk on our ride back.

“This is the place to rent bikes in Banff” Aug. 2023
Terrific shop. Everyone who worked there totally knew what they were doing and was committed to helping us get the biking experience we wanted. We rented e-bikes, got a very helpful map of potential bike rides from the store, rated by difficulty, and we were off!
Definitely the way to see the environs of Banff - don’t have to deal with cars, parking, etc. - less hassle than waiting for public transit - and extended our range. We went to Two Jake’s Lake, and then to the Hot Springs on Mountain Ave - a trek but totally worth it at each spot!
